When we built Education Lifeguards, we made one core commitment: every lesson would be recorded. Not as an afterthought, as a fundamental part of how the platform works. Here's why.
1. Safety First
Online tutoring involves children. That means safeguarding is non-negotiable. By recording every session, we create a transparent record of every interaction between tutor and student. Neither party needs to wonder "what was said?" It's all there, reviewable at any time.
This protects students. It also protects our tutors, who are dedicated professionals who have nothing to hide and everything to gain from working on a platform that validates their integrity.
2. Parents Stay Informed
Too often, parents book a tutor and then have no real visibility into what's happening in the sessions. On Education Lifeguards, that changes. Our safeguarding team reviews recordings when concerns arise, and lesson notes and progress reports are shared directly with parents through the dashboard.
3. Tutors Are Protected Too
Recording every lesson protects our tutors as much as our students. Any allegation or dispute can be resolved with reference to a verified record. Our tutors work with full confidence that their professionalism is documented.
This makes our recordings a genuine learning resource, not just a safety tool.
Your Privacy Is Protected
Recordings are stored securely, accessible only to our authorised safeguarding and quality-review team — they are not available for students, parents, or tutors to watch or download. Recordings are automatically deleted after 30 days. We take our responsibilities under UK GDPR very seriously.
